Congratulations to Our New Master's Graduates

5 October, 2026

Congratulations to our newly graduated Master’s students at CERGE-EI. Their thesis projects span energy economics, macroeconomics, public finance, global economic shocks, and investment strategies, reflecting the range of questions explored in the Master in Economic Research program.

Elnara Balakishiyeva studied energy prices and adjustments in European industrial sectors, examining how changes in energy costs affect industries across Europe.

Nurana Orujova
analyzed the macroeconomic responses of oil-exporting economies to the 2014–2016 decline in oil prices, using a cross-country event study to compare how different economies responded to the shock.

Milena Yeghoyan investigated the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy, comparing its economic impact across countries.

Richard Kaucký examined fiscal policy in the context of an aging population in the Czech Republic, addressing the economic challenges associated with demographic change.

Robert Oganesyan compared simple and advanced ETF portfolio allocation strategies across major world regions and economic sectors from the perspective of a retail investor.

Together, these theses explore important questions related to energy, economic shocks, demographic change, fiscal policy, and financial decision-making.

We congratulate all five graduates and wish them every success in their next steps.
