CERGE-EI Festival 2026: Two Days of Discovery, Inspiration, and Connections

3 November, 2026

Where can economics take you? What does economic research really look like? And how is the world of work changing? The CERGE-EI Festival 2026 brings together prospective students, current students, alumni, and faculty for two days of inspiring talks, interactive workshops, career conversations, and networking.

The Festival will open with a keynote address by Pavel Dvořák, CERGE-EI alumnus and Principal Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

December 4 – Discover CERGE-EI invites prospective students to explore the world of economics through engaging faculty talks, hands-on workshops, and career roundtables with alumni working in academia, public policy, international organizations, and the private sector. Participants will also learn about CERGE-EI's study programmes and admissions process.

During the From Curiosity to Academia (Faculty Talks) session, CERGE-EI faculty will share the key moments, experiences, and ideas that have shaped their research journeys, from their early academic interests to the questions driving their work today.

Participants will have plenty of opportunities to meet CERGE-EI faculty, alumni, and current students throughout the day, including during coffee breaks and the networking lunch. These informal conversations offer a chance to ask questions, explore research interests, and get a firsthand feel for the CERGE-EI community.

December 5 – Paths We Take: Life After CERGE-EI brings current students and alumni together to explore career opportunities and the changing world of work. Highlights include The Future of Work forum, examining how technology, demographic shifts, and evolving skill requirements are reshaping careers.

Whether you are considering studying economics, exploring your next career step, or reconnecting with the CERGE-EI community, the Festival offers a chance to exchange ideas, gain fresh perspectives, and make valuable connections.
