Maxi is an applied theorist who joined CERGE-EI as Assistant Professor in September 2026. Previously, he worked as research economist at the European Central Bank and as postdoctoral researcher in the finance group at the University of Bonn from 2021 to 2025. He completed his PhD at the LSE in 2021. His research focuses on financial fragility and monetary systems in the digital age.
